He has worked in and out of grow facilities across four different states, including California, Colorado, Oregon, and Michigan. With a passion for optimizing grow facilities, David specializes in crop planning, automation, and labor management.

2021-2023

Conception Nurseries

David was brought on as the Director of Customer Success, where he was tasked with overseeing all customer communications and ensuring customer success. His primary goal was to assist growers in transitioning to tissue culture clones. To achieve this, David conducted over 150 client farm visits, offered cultivation consulting, and collaborated with the R&D, production, and product development teams. Additionally, he led the plant pathology testing efforts and was responsible for handling customer complaints at one of the top tissue culture cannabis labs.
 

David also supported sales efforts with business development and worked closely with the marketing team to create content and maintain the company's online presence. Through his efforts, David helped establish the company as a leader in the industry and help customers achieve their desired outcomes.

2019-2021

Gold Flora

Oversaw and implemented a facility design and construction for a 30,000 sq. ft. canopy indoor cannabis facility, purchased all cultivation equipment, and hired and trained a team of over 30 employees.

 

David managed day-to-day operations, set budgets, scheduled supply orders, and procured plants and strains. They created and delivered comprehensive SOP-based training for all aspects of facility operations and oversaw implementing an integrated pest management (IPM) department using state-accepted pesticides and a biological approach. Additionally, David was responsible for overseeing the post-harvest trim and packaging departments.

2017-2019

CuraLeaf (Uku)

Hired to launch CuraLeaf's first recreational operation and completed the build-out of a 10,000 sq ft canopy facility. David developed a cultivation plan and SOPs for the departments and oversaw the cultivation, trim, and manufacturing/packaging departments and the extraction lab. David's responsibilities included ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the facility, overseeing the various departments, KPI's and ensuring all tasks were carried out efficiently and effectively while remaining compliant with all regulations. 

2016-2017

Good Meds 

David managed the production of cannabis for two dispensaries and the wholesale market, overseeing 260+ flower lights. He managed a team of cultivation staff and ensured that employees were trained and adhering to current SOPs. David was responsible for plant care and maintenance, managing watering schedules, transplanting, manicuring, and canopy management. He also scheduled and managed the IPM department to control pests and prevent plant damage.

2013-2016

Mjardin

 At Mjardin, David started as a Cultivation Tech and worked their way up to become a Cultivation Manager. He trained new hires on proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including METRC compliance, and forecasted strain batches and dispensary supply chains. David managed the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, scouting for pests and pathogens and applying state-accepted pesticides. He monitored environmental data and ensured optimal growth conditions for cannabis plants. In addition, David led a research project on prototype LED lighting systems to identify potential improvements to the cultivation process.

2008-2016

Patient/Caregiver

 David served as a Medical Marijuana Caregiver in the surrounding Metro Detroit and Denver areas. During this time, he provided organic cannabis to patients in Michigan's medical marijuana program, focusing on producing medical-grade cannabis using organic cultivation methods. As a caregiver, he was responsible for all aspects of the business, from seed to sale. This included the cultivation, processing, packaging, and distribution of cannabis.
